* Andreas was born nine months to the day his parents were married. Little is known about him, other than he was an
early settler of the village of Loherheide in Schleswig-Holstein. He is, without doubt, the father of the two Blaase
brothers who were early settlers in Coles and Douglas Counties in Illinois: Wessel and Claus, the latter being the
ancestor of our Blaase line.
